CO-FOUNDER, PRESIDENT OF THE ZAINA FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Dr. Urooj Waheed

Dr. Urooj Waheed is an Anesthesiologist and Senior Partner of US Anesthesia Partners, one of the largest anesthesia groups in the nation. He graduated from University of Texas at Arlington prior to attending Medical School at Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience. He completed his residency at University of Health Sciences San Antonio after serving as a Lieutenant in the US Navy as a primary care physician. He has also received an MBA from University of Dallas. 

Dr. Waheed has held several positions on medical leadership committees including Chairman of the Patient Quality Committee for all HCA facilities in North Texas, Chairing the Steering Committee for Methodist McKinney Hospital and Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Baylor McKinney Hospital. He is currently the Medical Director and Co-founder of Stonebridge Surgery Center. However, his most rewarding endeavor has been to co-found Zaina Foundation with his wife Sobia and serve as its President and lead the Board of Directors.

Sobia Ali

CO-FOUNDER AND MEMBER OF THE ZAINA FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Sobia Ali was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Houston, TX where she attended Rice University and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. After completing her education, she pursued her career in Tandy Corporation and Travelocity. She has continuously been involved with non-profit work where she is able to give back and be involved with the community. Her most rewarding experiences to date have been Co-Founding and managing the Zaina Foundation and watching her three bright and energetic children grow in so many ways.
